Happy New Year everyone – and have we got a 2018 for you.
To kick start the year we’re bringing you the internationally loved music of Take That, laughs from comedian Sean Lock and the unmissable sound of the Welsh National Orchestra. This is sure to be a January line up you’ll Never Forget!
The hats and scarves are officially out, and for those more organised, maybe then Christmas shopping has even begun? For us at the centre, all systems are go go go. November is the month that two spectacular musicals take on our Donald Gordon Theatre. Our very own epic production, Tiger Bay The Musical explores Cardiff in the early 1900s and Cameron Mackintosh’s world-renowned production, Miss Saigon, returns to the Centre as our Christmas treat.
Not many acts can claim a sound sitting so confidently and comfortably between James Blake, Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Burial and Thundercat. We took some time to dig a little deeper under the surface of ffresh’s exciting jazz performance on 23 June.
Jazz trio ENEMY bring their dynamic live show to ffresh at the Centre for a midweek special on Wednesday May 24. With their impressive individual CVs this piano-driven group have united to push UK jazz in an exciting new direction.
We tracked down ENEMY ringleader, Kit Downes for a Q&A session to find out what makes them tick and what’s in store for the show.
