School’s out for summer, and so is July! Celebrating the start of August, we are delighted to announce the sensational new shows at the Centre. From top-notch summer classics which are guaranteed to entertain the whole family to contemporary performances, there is something for everyone this August at the Centre.

Everyone’s favourite kooky family are now on stage in the UK premier of this spectacular musical comedy from the writers of the multi award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys, with musical and lyrics by Tony Award nominated Andrew Lippa.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, is all grown up and has a shocking secret that only Gomez knows. She’s fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family. With his cherished Morticia in the dark will Gomez manage to keep his daughter’s secret until the two families meet for a fateful dinner with hilarious consequences?

Join them, plus Uncle Fester, Lurch, Pugsley and more for a heart-warming story of love, family and friendship with a twist.

Featuring a live orchestra and extraordinary original score, The Addams Family is sure to entertain all ages. The Addams Family – The Musical Comedy will be us between 1-12 August.

Summer Soiree and Exclusive Preview 


Join National Dance Company Wales on 4 August for a revolutionary evening of outstanding dance, delicious wines and great company.

Marcos Morau, “Currently the next big thing in contemporary dance” is working in the UK for the first time outside of London. His new piece Tundra will be created with NDCWales and performed as part of our epic spectacle P.A.R.A.D.E in October.

Be the first in line for our exclusive premier performance of Tundra followed by a Q&A with Marcos Morau and the company. The evening will continue on our sunny roof terrace with a wine tasting experience led by our corporate partners CPA’s Wine.

All proceeds from the evening will go towards developing engagement with Dance in communities across Wales.

Hairspray 16 – 26 August


The international smash-hit musical comedy Hairspray the Musical is coming to Cardiff between 16-26 August!

It’s Baltimore, 1962. Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, is on a mission to follow her dreams and dance her way onto national TV.

Featuring the hit songs Welcome To The 60s, You Can’t Stop The Beat, The Nicest Kids in Town and many more, don’t miss this irresistible feel-good show that will have you smiling for days.

Family Days

Throughout August, our family events will be taking over the public spaces at the Centre. Specially designed to encourage your creative flair, our themed weeks will allow families to explore their own creativity. Similar to Toddler Time, events at all of our Family Activities weeks will be completely free. The activities will take part over the whole six weeks, so you don’t have to think of new and exciting ways to keep your little ones entertained – we got you covered!
